Roadtripping; The United Kingdom

3 weeks ago Robin and I went on a small journey to the United Kingdom.
On sunday the 19th of november we flew to Edingburgh airport and jumped in to a car to make a huge roadtrip along the coast, the highlands and cities.
We’ve seen the sun, cloudscapes and a shitload of rain. At one day we even defied a huge blizzard on Isle of Skye.
Visiting the Eilean Donan Castle, The Fairy Pools, Mealtfalls, Fairy Glen Falls, Dunnottar Castle ,the Glennfinan viaduct and Edingburgh were some of the highlights of our roadtrip.
England and Scotland are such hospitable and awesome destinations for a roadtrip!

And did you know that Robin also takes awesome pictures! Below some of Robin’s shots…

Speaking of hidden pearls, Lombok!

After arriving at Bali we got so sick of the tourism everywhere.
That’s when we decided to hop on the public ferry to Lombok.

Though the ferry was a bit creepy, crowded and slow… this magical island turned out to be quiet, peaceful and extremely pretty!
We’ve been driving around at our rental scooters, or ehm shall I call it motorbikes? to explore Lombok.
We ran in to stuff like waterfalls, magical uninhabited islands and lovely small beaches….

3 months later….

About 3 months ago Robin and I were spending our last days in Venice, our last days of a whole lot of traveling.
We were putting our minds to go home and to dive in to the “adult” life again.

And there we are, at the 9th of October, a regular monday, another beginning of a working week.

It still feels a bit crazy, in my dreams I quite often travel to the most breathtaking places.
Places I’ve seen, places I want to see but also places that don’t exist.

Well okay, but this place does exist! Ijen Crater, Java, Indonesia

Testshoot Sophie

About 2 weeks ago I did a testshoot with this beauty: Sophie van Rij!
Makeup, hair, styling and photography: Stephanie Verhart

After 3 months of backpacking…

After 3 months of backpacking…

On the 12th of June my plane landed at Schiphol airport. It was quite late already, around 10pm, though it was still light outside. We had a delay of 8 hours, so arriving at Schiphol felt like the best thing that could happen that day. My love, Robin was waiting at me in the arrival hall and the moment I saw him the only I thing I wanted to do was hug him and never let him go again.

I felt a kind of inner happiness. It reminded me of my childhood, like unwrapping a beautifully packed gift. There’s nothing better than coming home and see the ones you love again.

The last month of my backpack adventure I traveled together with Robin. We’ve seen so many impressive things together. Natures miracles, like waterfalls, beaches, ricefields and temples. We saw extreme poorness, annoying touristic places and we’ve met so many excessively kind people. We also got to know each other very, very well. We’ve been sick together and managed to vomit for a few days and become 2 very sociable zombies. Fun right?!
Experiencing these things together empowers your inner richness and strengthens your relation. It may sound a bit crazy, but I absolutely did not want to miss this.

My flight operated by Eurowings 2,5 week later (on the 5th of July) got cancelled, so I booked a different flight home. That’s why I arrived home early, at the same day as Robin. I couldn’t bare to stay in Asia and say goodbye again.

There you see, love makes you do special things right?

Right before I went traveling I photographed my cute little nephew Thijs. I forgot to share the results, yes…. it’s already 3.5 month ago and right now he’s already much bigger ofcourse!

Interested in a newborn shoot as well? Newborn shoots are always at the parents house. Besides that the baby has to be between the 2 and 14 days.
